Economic Growth and Job CreationEastern Washington’s economy has continued to grow and diversify over the past two decades. Unique technology and manufacturing companies, quality colleges and universities, and medical centers contribute to the overall economic success of Eastern Washington. The region’s diverse healthcare system and private industry, along with Fairchild Air Force Base, have made a positive impact on the local economy through the innovative products and services that benefit families, military and the private and public sector. In order to ensure continued economic growth, the Federal Government has a responsibility to ensure that tax dollars are spent wisely. It is important that economic resources are allocated properly, in order to provide for the general health, safety, and welfare of our nation’s citizens. To make government function efficiently, it is essential to reduce the size and scope of federal regulations and eliminate unnecessary and duplicative programs. Spending must be controlled and Congress must learn to accomplish more with less. The goal of the Federal Government must be to achieve fiscal restraint and accountability and be a good steward of taxpayer dollars. Less government regulation must be accompanied with lower taxes, in order
to allow for economic growth. A reduced tax burden will empower taxpayers
by allowing them to keep more of their hard-earned money, thus leading
the way to further personal savings and investment. Lower taxes also provide
incentives to our small businesses, ultimately fostering job creation
and a stronger economy. |
