Protecting and expanding the role of military in Eastern Washington

As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, McMorris Rodgers works to keep our nation and communities safe by ensuring we have a trained an equipped military. Since taking office, one of her top priorities has been to protect and expand the mission of Fairchild Air Force Base.

McMorris Rodgers is working to ensure the expediency of the KC-X program, support the preservation of assets at Fairchild AFB, provide all necessary equipment and benefits for servicemen and women in Eastern Washington and abroad, and maintain U.S. military capability sufficient to defend the United States.

Military Accomplishments

• Successfully helped fight to keep units and base open at Fairchild during Base Realignment and Closure process
• Actively working to secure replacement KC-135 tankers
• Providing our military personnel with continued benefits, technology, and security funding
  

Legislation Cosponsored:

H.R. 5755 Soldiers Targeted by Offensive Profiteering Act of 2006
Directs the Secretary of Defense to prohibit the unauthorized use of names and images of members of the Armed Forces.

H.R.3478 To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to permit military death gratuities to be contributed to certain tax-favored accounts.
