Keeping our Nation and Communities Safe

One of McMorris Rodgers top priorities is to keep our nation and communities safe. From our neighborhood streets, to our interests abroad, she has worked with federal, state, and local law enforcement officials to promote policies that will protect Eastern Washington.

As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, she is committed to making certain that our service men and women have the tools and resources to defeat aggression and win the war on terror. She helped protect Fairchild Air Force Base during the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process and is now working to strengthen and expand the role of Fairchild AFB by securing new KC-135 air refueling tankers. In April of 2006, McMorris Rodgers visited Iraq and met with members of Fairchild’s 92nd Air Refueling Wing. The 92nd Air Refueling Wing recently delivered the one billionth gallon of fuel in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

She has also held town hall and roundtable meetings with local, state and federal law enforcement to discuss how to fight the war on meth and ensure the safety of our communities. She also recently held a roundtable in Spokane with Homeland Security Subcommittee Chairman Dave Reichert on emergency preparedness and first responders.
